Applying Press On Nails

  1. Prepare your nails.: Wash your hands.  Use the wood cuticle stick to push back your cuticles. Use the buffer to gently remove the shine from your nail bed, and clean your nails with the alcohol prep pad to remove any oils from your nails.
  2. Apply adhesive:  If using adhesive tabs, peel off the film from one side of the sticky tab and apply it to your natural nail-aligning it to the cuticle edge and pressing firmly to avoid air bubbles between the tab and nail. Remove the other film, align the press on nail to your cuticle and press it down firmly onto the tab and nail bed for 20-30 seconds.  Press out any air bubbles.  If using glue, apply a small amount to both your natural nail and the press on nail.  Apply the press on nail to the nail bed then press them together firmly but not too hard (if glue accidentally spills out onto your skin, use the alcohol pad to quickly wipe it away.). Apply light pressure to the press on nail for 15-20 seconds to ensure a good bond.

Important care notes for after application:

  1. Avoid contact with water and oil for at least 30 minutes after application (ideally 1+ hours.)
  2. Don't shape or file the press on nail right after applying.
  3. Do not use your nails as tools and wear gloves when doing housework to help extend the wear of your press on nails.

Removing Press On Nails

  1. Soak your nails in a bowl of bearable warm-to-hot soapy water and a few drops of cuticle oil for 10-15 minutes until the adhesive starts to loosen.
  2. Gently remove the nails by using a cuticle pusher or orange stick to gently lift the press on nails from the sides.  Do not force them off, as this can damage your natural nails.  If the press on nails are difficult to remove, soak them for a longer period and add more oil to the water and underneath the nail.
  3. Clean up:  Once the press ons are removed, you can use a nail file or buffer to gently buff away any remaining glue residue from your natural nails.

Important care notes for removal:

  1. For nails attached with glue, soaking is the recommended removal method to avoid damage.  Be patient and gentle during the removal process.
  2. Do not use acetone to remove press on nails as it can damage the nails and make them unusable for future applications.
  3. You can file away any glue residue on the inside of the press on nails to reuse them for a future application.
